The Watercolour and Pen & Ink Drawing students at Bapëa Art School present an extraordinary collection of works on paper. The subjects range from landscape through to still life as well as the occasional portrait. Compelling work often created independently of classroom sessions.

The exhibition documents drawings and preparatory sketches spanning some three decades as well as more recently completed works on paper.

Beethoven ‘Waldstein’ Sonata,

Rachmaninov Prelude in B flat major,

Ravel ‘Boat on the Ocean’ from Miroirs,

Scarlatti ‘The Cat’s Fugue’ and

Prokofiev ‘Fantastic Dances’.

This is a fund raising recital and entry is by way of an online donation to a charity fund raising Team in Training event in aid of the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society.

Drinks and nibbles provided.

For these two Bapëa Art School students with a keen interest in portraiture and life drawing, sport has become a way to further explore gesture and character when representing the human form. Both artists believe that sport is also a fascinating way to combine figure painting with the depiction of landscape, narrative and history.

The subjects of this exhibition range from elite athletes to ordinary people ‘having a go’ and the action of competition and training is juxtaposed with moments of reflection.
